Thanks to hubby-to-be Ryan, a little help from a close friend, and of course moi, the amazing photographer (unofficial title), this surprise engagement fell into place flawlessly.
It was a cool, August afternoon on top of the new Hudson Commons building in NYC, which provided the perfect backdrop for Ryan to pop the big question. As the photographer, I made sure to scout the location, prior to the event to ensure I always get the perfect shot.
Michelle & Nick were all smiles during their engagement shoot with Terri Diamond.
We started collaborating with Michelle & Nick in October, (we’re pretty convinced that October is one of the best months out of the year for capturing love and magic) two weeks prior to the shoot, advising them with wardrobe and location. Not too rural, but not too urban either. Terri suggested the amazing Domino Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Noticing the cooler temperatures, Terri also suggested proper fall colors and attire.
We first met Dan & Dakota last year when they booked an engagement session as a part of their wedding with the studio. During that session, I got to know Dan & Dakota a little bit and we had an amazing time chasing the best the light through the streets of lower Manhattan. When working with brides and grooms, I always suggest an engagement session with the couple. It gives me a chance to get to know them and their story a little more which helps me to connect with them the day of their wedding.
I'm fortunate that my studio tends to attract really sweet and in-love couples as wedding clients; which makes capturing their day something I look forward to. This was no exception for Ashley & Jordan's wedding, I felt excited and honored to capture their day at one of my favorite NJ venues the Crestmont Country Club.
